ABOUT

Karen Plescia, NSCA-CPT

My personal training philosophy is: “It’s all about you” – your time, your body, your goals, your well-being — mental and physical. I approach our work together in this spirit. I am not an “in-your-face” trainer, barking commands or criticizing effort to motivate you to work harder. I prefer to be positive, to help you take pride in what you have accomplished while encouraging you to push yourself further in each workout. I want you to walk away from each session feeling confident, not defeated.

I believe that we all function best in our lives when we feel good about ourselves – about how we look, about how we perform physically, about how our bodies feel and about how our minds function. When all of these things come together, that’s confidence.

As a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Personal Trainer since 2006, I take pride in educating my clients about their bodies, exercise, and fitness in general. I focus on exercise form as well as on overall program design to help you avoid injury and to maximize results. Whether you are 18 years old or 80 years old, and regardless of your current abilities or limitations, I will create an individualized exercise program to help reach your goals.

I regularly attend continuing education courses and stay up-to-date on current health and exercise research. Some of the areas in which I have focused my professional development are: pre- and post-natal exercise, exercise-related nutrition, core strengthening and balance/stability training. In addition, I am dually certified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) as group exercise instructor and in kickboxing. I look forward to partnering with you to help you look, feel, and BE fit and confident.
